At first glance, PeaZip does not feel any different from other extractor/archiver tools. Well, I suppose, the magic is inside the functionalities and that’s what I’ll try to cover in detail.
Interface
The UI of PeaZip will give you a very familiar vibe because it looks exactly like the Windows 8 interface!
The boxy design with almost a carbon copy of the Windows File Explorer theme is definitely something that I loved thoroughly.
From here, I was able to browse through any folder and select which files I wanted to extract or archive. The interface is quite simple and does not mess up with what you already know about this type of tool.
Performance
A tool does not only rely on its interface, right? So, it’s important for PeaZip to have a solid performance. Otherwise, why would anyone use this tool instead of 7Zip or WinRaR?
In the performance department, the speed of converting a normal video file was decent enough. For example, I converted an 8 GB+ video file to ZIP and it took me more than 3.5 minutes.
Obviously, the speed will vary depending on your storage type. Still, I found the speed to be on par with WinRAR or 7Zip so no complaints there.
So, I can confidently state that PeaZip is surely a good tool to have at your disposal!
Bottom Line
If you don’t like the interface of 7Zip or WinRAR and want to have good software for your archiving, then PeaZip is a tough contender. It’s fast, efficient, and gorgeous to use.
